Haig Colliery Mining Museum

- Haig Pit was Cumbria's last deep coal mine. When it closed in 1986, it ended 700 years of mining history in the area. Over 1200 men, women and children had been killed while winning coal in workings up to four miles out beneath the sea.

It depicts the story of rum, bringing to life the slave trade, American prohibition, rum in the Royal Navy, rum in history and the processing of rum.
