Bodiggo emerges from the rugged Cornish terrain as a cluster of stone dwellings defined by the quiet tenacity of the granite landscape. It lies 2.9 miles north-west of St Blazey (from St Blazey: bearing 326°T, OS grid SX 044 587), and is situated north-west of Luxulyan village. The light here possesses a singular clarity, catching the grey surfaces of the local walls and imbuing them with a silvered, almost metallic sheen as the day wanes. A short walk towards the south-east leads one past the ancient granite of the Wayside Cross in Luxulyan Churchyard, a silent observer of centuries of passage. Beyond this, the landscape descends towards the Par River, where the water runs with a persistent, cold energy that mirrors the industry of the past. Bodiggo remains sheltered from the more aggressive coastal winds, allowing a thick, mossy verdancy to cling to the sheltered crevices of the nearby Luxulyan Quarry Sssi.
