About Lamorran

Lamorran occupies a quiet fold of the Cornish landscape where the land descends toward the sea in hushed, green gradients. It lies 3.7 miles east-south-east of Truro (from Truro: bearing 118°T, OS grid SW 878 418), and is situated west-south-west of Ruan Lanihorne village. Sunlight here possesses a peculiar, silvered quality, catching the slate roofs and the damp moss that clings to the ancient stone of the Churchyard Cross in Lamorran Churchyard. To the east, the Ruan River carves a serpentine path through the silt, its tidal currents pulling at the reeds with a persistent, rhythmic sigh. The atmosphere remains heavy with the scent of brackish water and damp earth, a reminder of the proximity to the Upper Fal Estuary And Woods Sssi. Lamorran retains an austere stillness, where the shadows of the trees stretch long and thin across the fields as the afternoon wanes. Time seems to move with the slow, deliberate pace of the rising tide, indifferent to the hurried progress of the wider world.
