About Aveley

Aveley is a village in the borough of Thurrock in Essex, England. It lies 16 miles (26 km) east of Charing Cross. It is inside the M25 motorway which encircles London, but lies just outside the Greater London boundary. Aveley was historically a parish; the parish was abolished for civil purposes in 1936 when Aveley became part of Thurrock. At the 2021 census the built up area of Aveley had a population of 9,360.
