It lies 3.4 miles north-west of Stansted Mountfitchet (from Stansted Mountfitchet: bearing 325°T, OS grid TL 476 294), and is situated east-south-east of Berden village. The morning light here often catches the damp earth of the surrounding arable land, casting long, pale shadows across the narrow lanes that define the geography of Little London. To the west, the reed-fringed surface of Easingwell Pond holds the grey sky in a mirror of stillness, undisturbed by the passage of time. A short distance to the south, the earthworks of The Crump rise as a silent, grassy hummock, marking the site where medieval fortifications once held watch over the valley. These remnants of antiquity sit in the path of the prevailing winds, which carry the scent of turned soil across the open horizon.
