How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Le Roux

Le Roux sits nestled within the Parc Naturel Régional des Monts d'Ardèche, where the landscape is defined by the rugged character of le Tanargue. Nearby, the Ruisseau des Marions traces its quiet path through the terrain, while the dense Forêt Domaniale de la Fontaulière offers a deep, verdant shelter. To the horizon, the Suc de Bauzon marks the skyline. Visitors may explore the evocative ruins of the Abbaye de Mazan, wander toward the dramatic Cascade du Ray-Pic, or seek the quiet beauty of the Lac d'Issarlès. It is a land of mistral-scoured ridges and the persistent, earthy scent of box and thyme after rain.
