How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Saint-Germain

Saint-Germain rests upon the Plateau du Coiron, a landscape defined by the scent of box and thyme after rain. The commune is cradled by the proximity of the Grand Bois and the meandering waters of l'Auzon, while the distant Montagne de Berg anchors the horizon. Nearby, the mistral-scoured ridges lead toward the Parc Naturel Régional des Monts d'Ardèche. Visitors may explore the imposing Château de Vogüé overlooking the river, discover the ancient stone foundations of the Oppidum de Jastres-Sud, or wander the quiet grounds of the Domaine du Pradel, where the rugged character of this land truly reveals itself.
