How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Sanilhac

Sanilhac rests amidst the rugged textures of the Ardèche, where the landscape is defined by schist, terraced hillsides, and the scent of box and thyme after rain. The Ruisseau de Blajoux winds through this quiet terrain near the Grand Bois, while the distant, mistral-scoured ridges of Mont Aigu and the vastness of la Cham du Cros frame the horizon. Within the commune, the curious Perte de Pissevielle marks the limestone earth. Nearby, the grand silhouette of Château de Montréal stands as a silent sentinel, while the elegant Basilique Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours and the historic Château de Versas invite quiet contemplation of this storied, ancient land.
