OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.
Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.
📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.
Mode d'emploi.

Pradiers rests within the Parc Naturel Régional des Volcans d'Auvergne, a landscape defined by the rugged Montagne du Chamaroux and the persistent presence of the Ruisseau de Pradiers. Here, the earth hums with the memory of volcanoes, where basalt villages stand against the quiet expanse of the Bois des Cayroux. Nearby, the ancient Ancien château de Mercoeur watches over the rolling terrain, while the mysterious Grotte du Cuze offers a glimpse into the deep, hidden architecture of the plateau. Further afield, the Dolmen de Recoules stands as a solitary sentinel of stone, grounding the visitor in a land of long views and high, windswept pastures.
