How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Rézentières

Rézentières rests upon the Plateau de Chalet, a landscape defined by the quiet endurance of high pastures and the cooling influence of the nearby Ruisseau de la Foulière. From the vantage of the nearby Montluc, the horizon stretches toward the volcanic silhouettes of the Parc Naturel Régional des Volcans d'Auvergne, where basalt villages stand against the vast, shifting sky. Wander through the dense shade of the Bois Grand or explore the ancient stones of the Dolmen de Bardon. Nearby, the Château du Sailhant rises from the crags, while the mysterious Grotte du Cuze offers a silent, subterranean echo of the earth’s long memory.
