How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

Map search is available for a limited number of queries per session to manage costs. Be specific — search precisely for best results.

About Beaurières

Beaurières lies nestled within the rugged embrace of the Montagne du Puy, a landscape defined by the thin bright air of the high country and the silent, shifting shadows of the peaks. Near the Ruisseau de Chauranne, the world feels held in suspension, caught between the ancient stillness of the Forêt Domaniale du Maravel and the high mountain passes like the Col de Cabre. Travelers may seek out the delicate precision of a local cadran solaire, explore the wooded paths of Chauranne, or gaze toward the imposing silhouette of Montagne l'Archier, where the mountain's presence dictates the rhythm of the valley floor.
