How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Luc-en-Diois

Luc-en-Diois sits quietly within the embrace of the Montagne du Puy, a landscape defined by the rhythmic shadow of the peaks and the thin, bright air of the high country. The Drôme flows close by, carving its path through a terrain of rugged stone and sheltered woodland. Near the Forêt Domaniale du Claps, the dramatic rockfalls of Le Claps create a striking natural monument, while the distant, snow-dusted heights of la Pâle loom on the horizon. Beyond the immediate valley, the vast Parc Naturel Régional du Vercors invites exploration, and the ancient Cathédrale Notre-Dame stands as a testament to the enduring character of this mountain region.
