How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Triors

Triors sits with quiet grace within the rolling landscape of the Drôme, sheltered by the rising contours of the Montagne des Ussets. The river la Savasse winds through the nearby fields, while the shadow of Mont Peyroux stretches across the valley floor, hinting at the high, glaciated peaks of the Parc Naturel Régional du Vercors in the distance. Nearby, the Abbatiale Notre-Dame remains a place of stillness, complemented by the austere beauty of the Collégiale Saint-Barnard. Further afield, the ancient Grotte de Thaïs offers a deep, subterranean contrast to the bright, open air of the Bois du Nouvel.
