How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Landos

Landos sits quietly within the high, volcanic landscape of the Haute-Loire. Here, the earth is marked by the enduring presence of dark stone and ancient lava flows, where high pastures stretch toward the horizon under the gaze of Mont Burel. Nearby, the gentle Ruisseau des Fouragettes wanders through the landscape, while the deeper waters of the Réservoir de Naussac and the distant flow of the Loire shape the wider countryside. A visitor might explore the evocative ruins of the Château de Beaufort, wander near the storied Porte de la Verdette, or seek the wild, rushing descent of the Cascade de la Beaume.
