OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.
Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.
📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.
Mode d'emploi.

The Nant de Darbon carves through this terrain, where larch and spruce forests like the Bois de l'Envers hold the thin, bright air of the high pastures. Nearby, the glacial depths of le Léman shimmer in the distance. A visitor might explore the storied stone of the Maison forte de Chatillon, discover the curious Pierre à Jean-Jacques Rousseau, or wander the grounds of the Château de Blonay, all set against the backdrop of snow-dusted cols.
