How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Culin

Culin sits nestled within the Plateau de Bièvre, a landscape defined by the quiet persistence of the Ruisseau de Combaloup and the nearby rise of Machefer. The horizon is framed by the deep, silent expanse of the Bois de Lury, where the air holds the scent of damp earth and cooling shade. Nearby, the Château de Milliassière anchors the rolling fields with its austere stone presence, while the ruins of the Château de Bocsozel offer a stark, weathered silhouette against the sky. It is a place of subtle transitions, where the pastoral stillness of the countryside meets the distant, enduring influence of the Parc Naturel Régional du Pilat.
