How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Chenereilles

Chenereilles sits quietly within the Montagne des Allebasses, a landscape defined by the rolling rhythm of the Loire department. Nearby, the waters of la Mare flow through a terrain marked by the sheltering Bois de Couhard and the silhouette of Montmartre. This is a region of subtle shifts, where the mist settles over quiet fields and the distant, rugged charm of the Parc Naturel Régional du Livradois-Forez beckons. A short journey reveals the Collégiale Saint-Bonnet, a testament to ancient stone, the enduring Prieuré de Saint-Romain-le-Puy, and the storied remains of the Château d'Essalois, each anchoring the horizon in history.

À propos de Chenereilles
