OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.
Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.
📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.
Mode d'emploi.

Fourneaux rests within the quiet folds of the Loire, where the hum of industrial valleys meets the soft, shifting light of the countryside. Nearby, the Écoron winds through a landscape defined by the dense, whispering trees of the Bois de Montcizerand. A traveler might wander toward the Geopark Beaujolais to trace the earth’s ancient story, or find stillness near the stone walls of the Château de Sarron. Further afield, the Crêt de la Roche rises to offer a quiet vantage point over the rolling hills, mirroring the gentle fog that occasionally drifts through these valleys in winter.
