How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Saint-André-la-Côte

Perched within the Monts du Lyonnais, Saint-André-la-Côte offers an austere, elevated sanctuary where the air grows crisp. The landscape is defined by the shadowed Bois de Chantalois and the nearby waters of les Reculées, winding through a terrain that feels distant from the industrial valleys below. Visitors can ascend le Signal de Saint-André to survey the horizon or venture toward the Crêt Pelossier for a broader perspective of the orchard-strewn slopes. Beyond the immediate ridges, the Espace Zoologique de Saint-Martin-La-Plaine provides a quiet encounter with the wild, anchoring this serene commune in its rugged, upland character.
