How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Vauxrenard

Vauxrenard lies cradled within the Geopark Beaujolais, a quiet commune defined by the gentle rise of the Pic de Rémont and the deep stillness of the Buidon woodland. The landscape here is etched by the Ruisseau de Changy, reflecting a terrain where the Col du Fût d'Avenas marks the passage through rolling hills. Nearby, the horizon catches the silhouette of the Montagne des Aiguillettes, while the historic Château du Thil stands as a silent sentinel. Visitors may explore the elegant rotating sails of the Moulin à Vent or wander through the shaded paths of this golden stone region, where the air feels heavy with the quiet history of the earth.
