How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Bourgneuf

Bourgneuf sits quietly within the embrace of the Montagne de la Lanche, where the thin, bright air carries the distant chime of cowbells from the high pastures. Nearby, the waters of l'Arc rush toward the larger l'Isère, carving through a landscape defined by the Massif des Bauges UNESCO Global Geopark. A visitor might wander through the cool shade of les Bassins Molard or explore the weathered stone of the Fort de Montgilbert, standing as a sentinel over the fortified valley. Beyond, the horizon is anchored by the Pointe des Arlicots, keeping watch as the mountain's shadow moves slowly across the valley floor.
