OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.
Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.
📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.
Mode d'emploi.

Conjux lies nestled against the shore of Lac du Bourget, where the mountain's shadow moves slowly across the valley floor. The landscape is defined by the slopes of the Montagne de Cessens and the nearby woodland of le Communal. In this quiet corner of Savoie, the air feels thin and bright, carrying the distant chime of cowbells from the high pastures. A short journey away, the medieval walls of the Château de Châtillon stand watch over the water, while the serene Abbaye d’Hautecombe offers a place of reflection. Nearby, the ruins of the Tours de César evoke the rugged, fortified history of the region.
