How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Hautecour

Hautecour sits nestled within the rugged embrace of the Savoie region, where the thin, bright air carries the faint rhythm of cowbells from the high pasture. Below, the river le Boilet winds through a landscape defined by the deep shadow of the mountain and the silent sentinels of the Forêt des Gollards. Nearby, the dramatic Étroit du Siaix cuts through the stone, leading the curious toward the towering Pointe du Col. Visitors may explore the ancient walls of the Cathédrale Saint-Pierre or seek the quiet, wooded trails of the Bois de la Mottaz, where the scent of spruce lingers long after the sun dips behind the ridge.
