How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About La Table

La Table rests within the Chaîne des Hurtières, a quiet commune cradled by the slopes where the Nant des Fruitiers weaves through the landscape. The air carries the scent of larch and spruce, while the shadow of the Pointe de Rognier shifts slowly across the valley floor. Nearby, the woodland of les Nuées offers a sanctuary of silence. Those wandering the wider countryside might discover the sturdy ruins of the Tour de Montmayeur, the hidden strength of the Fort de Montgilbert, or the industrial echoes of Le Grand Filon. It is a place of thin, bright air and the seasonal rhythms of the mountain.
