How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Arcenant

Arcenant sits nestled within the quiet folds of the Montagne de Beaune, where the Raccordon flows through a landscape defined by limestone escarpments and the dense, silent canopy of the Bois de Montmain. This is a land of autumn mist and quiet valleys, anchored by the ancient, weathered stones of the Abbaye Sainte-Marguerite. Nearby, the Église Saint-Cassien stands as a testament to the region’s enduring Romanesque soul, while the nearby Butte de Vergy offers a vantage point over the vine-lined côtes. It is a place where the stillness of the woods meets the legacy of the soil, perfect for those seeking the contemplative character of the Burgundy hinterland.
