How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Diancey

Diancey sits nestled within the quiet folds of the Côte-d'Or, where the Nailly Ruisseau meanders through a landscape defined by the dense Forêt Domaniale de Buan and the rising silhouette of the Montagne de Bard. This is a land of autumn mist in the valleys and the granite depths of the nearby Parc Naturel Régional du Morvan. Beyond the village, one finds the historic Château de Visigneux and the imposing Château de Buis, both standing as silent witnesses to the past. Further afield, the Fosse Dionne offers a mysterious, emerald-hued spring, drawing visitors into the heart of this ancient, rural silence.
