How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Les Maillys

Les Maillys rests in the quiet embrace of the Côte-d'Or, where the landscape is defined by the gentle presence of the Tille and the wider reach of the Saône nearby. Here, the earth feels old, shaded by the Bois des Girolles and defined by the soft rhythms of the valley. A visitor might find the ruins of the Château des Maillys, standing as a weathered witness to time. Further out, the Château d'Auxonne holds its stone weight against the horizon, while the quiet waters of the Étang du Milieu offer a mirror to the passing clouds in this corner of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.
