How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Tart

Tart lies cradled in the quiet, undulating countryside of the Côte-d'Or, where the landscape is defined by the gentle presence of the river la Biètre. Nearby, the Grand Bois offers deep, shadowed retreats, while the summit of Mont Pauloy watches over the valleys with a silent, ancient patience. This is a land of autumn mist, where the earth feels rich with the legacy of the terroir and the quiet rhythm of the seasons. It is a place of profound stillness, far removed from the clamor of the modern world, where the horizon is softened by the wooded silhouettes of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.

In the wider countryside, the visitor finds remnants of a storied past that define the local character. The Abbaye de Cîteaux rises as a testament to centuries of monastic devotion, its stone walls echoing with the weight of history. Nearby, the Château de Longecourt-en-Plaine stands with regal elegance, while the Pont-Canal Des Arvaux serves as a graceful reminder of the region's historic waterways. Further afield, the Château d'Auxonne commands the landscape, offering a glimpse into the architectural heritage of this fertile region, where the spirit of the land is inextricably linked to its soil and its silent, enduring monuments.
