How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Tillenay

Tillenay sits quietly within the verdant tapestry of the Côte-d'Or, a landscape defined by the nearby flow of la Saône and the dense, rhythmic shade of Bois Barthélemy. The horizon is marked by the distant silhouette of Mont Roland, while the local terrain hums with the damp, earthy presence of the Étang de Villers Rotin. Nearby, the grand stone walls of the Château d'Auxonne stand as a testament to the region’s enduring weight, complemented by the solemnity of the Napoléon Bonaparte memorial. It is a place of quiet transitions, where the fertile fields meet the lingering autumn mist in the valleys.
