How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Cademène

Cademène rests amidst the limestone plateaux of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, where the landscape unfolds in terraced steps and deep, dark fir forests. Near the rushing waters of la Loue, the air carries the sharp, cold clarity of a region defined by its karst springs and the distant shadow of Mont Poupet. Beyond the quiet fields, the horizon is anchored by the Réserve Naturelle Nationale du Ravin de Valbois. A short journey reveals the enduring stone of the Château de Cléron, the melancholy ruins of the Château de Scey, and the hidden depths of the Grotte des Cavottes, all waiting in the silence of the woods.
