OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.
Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.
📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.
Mode d'emploi.

Épenouse rests amidst the limestone plateaux of the Doubs, tucked away where the air turns sharp and the winters bring deep, quiet snow. The landscape is shaped by the nearby woodland of les Anglars and the gentle presence of l'Audeux, a river that winds through the region’s distinct steps. To the east, the Doubs Horloger offers a vast natural sanctuary. A short journey reveals the Cascade de l'Audeux, where water tumbles over limestone, or the Grotte de la Glacière, a hidden pocket of frost. Further afield, the Gouffre de Poudrey opens into the earth, inviting exploration of the karst depths.
