How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Longemaison

Longemaison rests upon the limestone plateaux of the Doubs, a realm defined by the dark fir forests of the Montagne du Larmont and the quiet presence of Bois Chélène. In this high, bright country where winters bring deep snow, the land rises toward the silhouette of Mont Chaumont. Nearby, the waters of le Barchet mirror the sky, while the Doubs Horloger park shelters the rugged terrain. A short journey leads to the Défilé d’Entre-Roches, where stone walls press close to the path, or to the sweeping horizon of Le Crêt Monniot, offering a vast vantage point over the folded earth. Hidden within the landscape, the Grotte-chapelle de Remonot remains a place of silent, cool stone.
