How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Villargent

Villargent sits quietly within the limestone plateaux of the Haute-Saône, a landscape defined by the gentle wanderings of the Ruisseau de Beveuge and the deep, silent presence of the Bois du Charmois. Here, the air carries the crisp memory of deep snow and the sharp, nutty scent of Comté from the local fruitières. Nearby, the grand silhouette of the Château de Villersexel rises above the terrain, while the ancient stones of the Dolmen d'Aillevans offer a meditative stillness. To the east, the Parc Naturel Régional des Ballons des Vosges waits on the horizon, framing a region of karst springs and hidden paths.

À propos de Villargent
