How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Biarne

Biarne rests within a landscape defined by the gentle wanderings of the Bief du Moulin, a quiet commune cradled by the rolling terrain of the Jura. Nearby, the Forêt des Crochères offers a sanctuary of shadowed paths, while the vast Massif de la Serre looms on the horizon. The wider countryside evokes the spirit of limestone plateaux and deep, silent winters. A short journey away, the Collégiale Notre-Dame stands with enduring grace in the heart of the city, complemented by the historic depths of the Musée des Beaux-Arts and the commanding presence of the Château d'Auxonne, each reflecting the quiet, stone-wrought soul of the region.
