How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Chambéria

Chambéria sits quietly upon the Plateau de Montciel, a landscape defined by limestone steps and the deep, silent presence of the Bois des Rebrets. Nearby, the river la Valouse carves through the earth, while the peak of Sur le Charrin rises on the horizon. The surrounding countryside offers a glimpse into the raw Jura, where the rugged ruins of the Chartreuse de Vaucluse whisper of long-forgotten solitude. Further afield, the expansive Lac de Vouglans mirrors the shifting sky, and the Puits d'Anténa reveals the mysterious, hollowed heart of the karst terrain, inviting a slow, contemplative wander through this ancient, wooded world.
