How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Blanot

Blanot rests within the quiet folds of the Saône-et-Loire, where limestone escarpments meet the dense shade of the Forêt Domaniale de Grison. The landscape is defined by the Mont de la Péralle and the looming presence of Mont Saint-Romain, while the river le Grison carves its path through the valley. Nearby, the Grottes de Blanot offer a subterranean journey into the earth, contrasting with the silence of the Ancien prieuré standing in the village. A short distance away, the Château de Cruzille anchors the horizon, surrounded by a countryside of vine-lined côtes and the soft, lingering autumn mist.
