How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Briant

Briant sits quietly in a landscape of rolling hills, defined by the gentle presence of the river la Belaine and the rising slopes of En Ecu. Beyond the nearby Bois des Prêtres, the wider countryside is a mosaic of pasture and white charolais cattle, framed by the distant, rugged influence of the Morvan. Visitors can explore the architectural heritage of the region, including the striking Église Saint-Pierre-aux-Liens, the historic Château du Magny, and the impressive Collégiale Saint-Hilaire. The area offers a serene immersion into a landscape of limestone escarpments and autumn mist, far from the hurried paths of modern life.
