How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Charmoy

Charmoy sits quietly where the landscape shifts from the granite of the nearby Parc Naturel Régional du Morvan toward the gentle valleys of Saône-et-Loire. The river le Vallet winds through this verdant territory, shaded by the trees of the Bois Boulaye. On the horizon, the summit of Mont Julien watches over fields where white Charolais cattle graze under autumn mist. Nearby, the Tour du Bost stands as a silent sentinel of stone, while the curious rock formation of La Pierre qui croule invites quiet contemplation. Further into the countryside, the Château de Trélague remains a testament to the enduring character of this region.
