How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Tintry

Tintry sits quietly within a landscape shaped by the gentle flow of la Drée and the nearby presence of the Barrage du Pont du Roi. This is a region where the deep, rugged character of the Parc Naturel Régional du Morvan meets rolling fields, with the Forêt Domaniale des Battées offering a shadowed sanctuary of ancient timber. On the horizon, the Mont de Rème marks the skyline, watching over a land defined by autumn mist in the valleys and the presence of white Charolais cattle. Visitors may explore the formidable Château de Sully, the historic walls of Château de Couches, or the elegant Château de Morlet, each standing as a silent witness to the quietude of the Saône-et-Loire countryside.
