How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Langoat

Langoat sits nestled in the heart of the Côtes-d'Armor, a landscape defined by its rolling, hedged bocage and quiet, sunken lanes. The air here holds the salt-tide scent of the nearby English Channel, and the river le Jaudy winds through the valley, carving a path toward the sea. It is a region of granite and slate, where the light stretches long and golden across the fields during the summer months. The atmosphere is quiet, marked by the presence of bilingual Breton signage and the distant, rhythmic weather patterns rolling in off the Atlantic.

A visitor exploring the wider countryside surrounding Langoat will encounter a rich tapestry of local heritage. The Chateau de Kermezen stands as a silent sentinel nearby, while the Cathédrale Saint-Tugdual offers a testament to the stone-craft of the region. Those drawn to the cultural threads of the area might visit the Maison d'Ernest Renan, or wander through the verdant paths of the Jardin du Kestellic. These sites, set against a backdrop of gorse and heather-covered headlands, ground the village firmly within the enduring character of Bretagne.
