How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Saint-Hernin

Saint-Hernin lies nestled within the quiet, rolling heart of Bretagne, where sunken lanes wind through a landscape defined by granite, slate, and the soft, verdant texture of hedged bocage. The Ruisseau de Coat Quévéran murmurs nearby, while the distant, shadowed silhouette of the Montagnes Noires defines the horizon. A short journey away, the ancient Menhir de Guernangoué rises from the earth like a silent witness to time, complemented by the storied stones of the Château de Kerampuilh. Visitors may also explore the archaeological depths of the Centre d'interprétation Vorgium, finding a sense of enduring history in this serene, rain-swept countryside.
