How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Silfiac

Silfiac sits nestled within a quiet, undulating landscape defined by the deep greenery of the Bois de Crennard and the nearby Ruisseau du Pont Samuel. The surrounding terrain speaks of ancient granite and slate, where hedged bocage and sunken lanes carve through the earth. A short distance away, the Ruisseau du Pont Samuel winds toward the broader waters of the Lac de Guerlédan. Visitors may explore the mysterious Menhir dit la Quenouille du Diable, encounter the historical resonance of Les Forges des Salles, or wander the contemplative grounds of the Abbaye Notre-Dame de Bon-Repos, where the long light of summer bathes the stone in a timeless, golden glow.
