How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Vereaux

Vereaux sits quietly within the rural landscape of the Cher, where the flat horizon is broken only by the gentle undulations of the fields. Nearby, the Ruisseau la Fausse Rivière meanders through the landscape, while the dense canopy of les Usages de Sagonne offers a cool refuge. A short journey leads to the imposing Château de Sagonne, a fortress that anchors the local history in stone. Further afield, the elegant Château d'Apremont-sur-Allier stands as a testament to architectural grace, complemented by the evocative, quiet ruins of the donjon de Jouy, which remain etched against the wide, soft sky of the region.
