How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Le Gault-Saint-Denis

Le Gault-Saint-Denis sits within the vast, open expanse of the Beauce, where the horizon stretches wide across fertile cereal fields. The landscape is shaped by the gentle presence of the Fossé Berthaux, while the nearby slopes of Montguérin provide a quiet vantage point over the rolling terrain. Woodland patches like the Bois Carlin offer a shaded respite from the sun-drenched plains. A visitor might explore the historic Château de Reverseaux, lingering near the stone walls, or discover the ancient Menhir de l'Ormorice nestled in the countryside. The nearby Moulin à vent dit du Paradis stands as a silent witness to the region's agricultural heritage.
