How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Chaussy

Chaussy sits quietly within the expansive, flat cereal fields of the Beauce, where the horizon stretches wide under long, soft evenings. Nearby, the Bois d'Amoy offers a pocket of woodland shade, while the distant rise of le Haut du Buisson punctuates the otherwise level landscape. Beyond these quiet fields, the region reveals its heritage through the grand Château de Chamerolles, standing as a testament to Renaissance elegance. Exploring further, one encounters the ancient Dolmen de la Pierre Clouée or the weathered stones of the Tumulus mégalithique de Menainville, silent landmarks that anchor this countryside in deep, unhurried time.
