📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Figari rests upon the granite foundations of the Plateau d’Arapa, where the scent of wild immortelle clings to the heat of the maquis. This inland commune is defined by the rugged ascent toward the Montagne de Cagna, where high bare ridges silhouette against the sky. Nearby, the Ruisseau de Carcerone winds through the landscape, leading the eye toward the distant Mediterranean coast. The air here holds the stillness of the deep countryside, punctuated by the presence of the Parc Naturel Régional de Corse, which guards the wilder reaches of the horizon.
Beyond the village, the land reveals traces of long-standing human presence. One might encounter the Site Archéologique de Tappa, an ancient stone witness to the island’s past, or venture toward the Uomo di Cagna, a natural stone sentinel standing guard over the slopes. Further afield, the Phare de la Madonetta marks the meeting of sea and rock, while the Tour Génoise de Roccapina stands as a silent observer upon the headlands. It is a landscape of drystone and shadow, where the echoes of polyphonic song seem to rise from the very earth.
Figari s'ancre sur les fondations granitiques du Plateau d’Arapa, là où le parfum de l'immortelle imprègne la chaleur du maquis. Cette commune intérieure se définit par l'ascension abrupte vers la Montagne de Cagna, dont les crêtes dénudées se découpent contre l'azur. À proximité, le Ruisseau de Carcerone serpente dans le relief, guidant le regard vers la côte méditerranéenne qui borde l'horizon. L'air y conserve le calme des terres sauvages, préservé par la proximité du Parc Naturel Régional de Corse qui veille sur les espaces les plus reculés.
