📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Zonza rests in the heart of the Corse-du-Sud, cradled by the granite massifs of the Aiguilles de Bavella. The landscape is defined by the sharp transition between the Forêt Territoriale de Zonza and the high bare ridges that command the sky. Within the Parc Naturel Régional de Corse, the air carries the scent of immortelle rising from the maquis. The Ruisseau de Poggi Alti flows through this rugged terrain, while the Monte Calva stands as a silent sentinel over the slopes. It is a place of stone and light, where the mountain slopes descend toward the horizon in a slow, tectonic rhythm.
Visitors find the surrounding heights offer a profound sense of solitude, particularly near the Bocca d'Illarata. A short journey leads to the Lac de l'Ospedale, a mirror of deep water reflecting the surrounding peaks. The archaeological significance of the region is anchored by the Castellu d’Araghju, a site that speaks to the ancient inhabitants of these heights. Zonza s'inscrit au cœur de la Corse-du-Sud, nichée parmi les reliefs de granit des Aiguilles de Bavella. Le paysage est marqué par la transition entre la Forêt Territoriale de Zonza et les hautes crêtes dénudées qui découpent l'horizon. Au sein du Parc Naturel Régional de Corse, le parfum de l'immortelle s'élève du maquis sous la chaleur.
