Calvi sits where the mountains rise straight out of the Mediterranean, a place defined by the scent of immortelle in the heat and the rugged texture of granite and maquis. The landscape is shaped by the nearby Ruisseau de Versanu and the wider flow of la Figarella, while the distant Capu Caviglia dominates the horizon. Just beyond the edge of town, the Parc Naturel Régional de Corse preserves the wilder spirit of the island, and the Revellata nature reserve protects the coastal fringe where the headland of la Revellata juts into the sea.
