How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Castineta

Castineta rests within the verdant embrace of the Parc Naturel Régional de Corse, a landscape defined by the scent of immortelle and the shadow of the Monte San Petrone. Here, the Ruisseau de Prunitaccio carves its path through the rugged Casinca, where drystone walls hold back the slopes and the Forêt de San Pietro d'Accia whispers in the mountain air. Visitors wandering these high ridges find the Musée Pascal Paoli close by, offering a quiet reflection on the past. Further out, the Citadelle de Corte commands the horizon, while the Site archéologique et substructions d'un sanctuaire primitif stands as a testament to the island's ancient, silent history.
