How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Verdèse

Verdèse sits nestled within the Parc Naturel Régional de Corse, a landscape defined by the resilient granite of the mountains and the scent of the maquis. The Ruisseau de Tuponzoli carves through the terrain, while the dense woodland of Pie d'Ermone clings to the slopes below the towering Monte San Petrone. This is a land of high bare ridges and ancient chestnut forests. Nearby, the Musée Pascal Paoli offers a quiet reflection on heritage, while the architectural presence of the Cathédrale Saint-Érasme and the historic Cathédrale Sainte-Marie-de-l’Assomption stand as silent witnesses to the enduring character of this rugged, upland Casinca region.
